If you didn’t know The Festival of Discovery is pitched at making the kids the main event. It’s a 3-day fun packed camping festival based here in the glorious countryside of Anglesey North Wales. It’s over the May School holiday and had been designed as a good old-fashioned family holiday with kids at the heart of everything focusing on the quality of Entertaiment.
If you’re thinking of booking a camping holiday this May half term, here are 8 reasons why Festival of Discovery could work for you.
1. Activities for the Lil-Festival-Goers
There’s enough arts, crafts, sports, singing, and dancing to keep your little festival goers busy from breakfast till bed!
Whether they’re having fun at the go-karting track, learning how to paddle board or riding a donkey for the first time… we can guarantee there won’t be any time for getting bored!
2. Discover hidden talents
Learn lots of new skills at our fun workshops and classes!
Get stuck in with our arts & crafts, science shows and kiddies cookery classes or even learn what it takes to be in a circus with a wonderfully modern non-animal social circus. Our priority tickets get your children to the front of the queue for ALL our exciting workshops!
3. Priority for Family Camping
Families are welcome to camp in our special family campsite!
It’s a fab safe space away from other campers, with dedicated facilities and loads of space for the kids to play. Plus, we all know grown-ups need to chill too, so the bar is open later just for you!
And don’t forget family camping grabs you priority tickets! This gets your little ones to the front of the queue for ALL festival activities, workshops and classes! They have their pick of our full schedule of stuff to do!
4. Glamp like a rock star!
Don’t feel like putting up the tent this year? Well one of the luxurious glamping tents could have your name on it! We’ve got boutique camping in the bag, enjoy the great outdoors without giving up any comfort what so ever.
5. Folk music
Fall in love with bands and artists you haven’t discovered yet!
Enjoy three days packed full of the very best folk music that Wales has to offer! Headliners include the Blas Stage with performances from Alaw, Maelog, Elfen, Trials of Cato, Tacla, VRi, Gwilym Bowen Rhys, K-bros and more!
6. There’s a food festival & Boat Show thrown in too!
And if all of that isn’t quite enough, your tickets also give you access to two more festivals on the day at the Anglesey Show Ground.
If youre a foody then all the local food made on the island will be at the Anglesey food festival for you to indulge in. Food production isn’t commercial from the island so the Food Festival has small batch goodies for you to enjoy. The festival brings together local fisherman, farmers, producers, restaurants and hotels to display the variety of their style of welsh food and other produce sourced from the area.
The All Wales Boat and Leisure Show, a family friendly celebratory festival of water-based and leisure park activities. Discover lots of exhibitors, show events and activities where you can get involved! Both festivals make a fantastic family day out!
7. Pooches are welcome!
We understand that fluffy friends are an important family member and they need to be part of a holiday experience. Dogs are very welcome at the festival, we do ask they be kept on a lead and bring tonnes of poop bags.
8. Explore Anglesey from Anglesey
It’s not a coincidence we choose one of the most stunning parts of wales to hold the family festival in. Now if you are familiar with Anglesey you will know its near on impossible to find accommodation on the island, so the camping at the Showground is a right steal and a brilliant base to explore the island.
Places we like to visit on the island are its many beaches check out Newbrough Beach, have you ever been to Beaumaris or seen its Castle? Anglesey sea zoo is a bit of a coo too!
